Default H & R Blackpowder

I went to Cabelas the other day and was checking out the new HR Muzzeloader that Cabelas was selling for around $150. It seemed to fit great, and I'll probably end up getting one. Does anyone have any experience with the new rifle, and heard of any reports on it? Thanks

I am guessing your talking about the H&R Huntsman or the NEF Sidekick .50 caliber. From all the reviews I have read on them they are excellent rifles, great shooters and well worth the money....

I've also only heard good things about H&R.

I have had a NEF/H&R .50 Huntsman, for three years now. I find it to be an accurate handy muzzleloader. I do have a fixed four power scope on it , as the factory sights, left something to be desired. Also you must get used to the telescoping ramrod. I have had to make a quick reload in the field, when hunting, with it, and it's not that bad, once you're used to it. It is easy to clean, and somewhat lighter than my T/C Encore, 209X.50. It is a break action, like the Encore. One thing I like about it is the primer carriers. You put your 209 primer in the nickel sized primer carrier, and carry them in your pocket. Easy to grab, if you need a fast reload. I think for the money, you can't go wrong with it.
