Default Pedersoli Query

Hello All,
New to this forum and seeking some advice. I'm proficient in Blackpowder Revolvers, having 3, but I'm taking Delivery on a Pedersoli 1858 2 Band Enfield this week and cannot seem to find specific information on the Pedersoli website about powder charges, Ball/Minei Ball sizes, Caps (I'm assuming 11's with FFg), I use 10's on my Revolvers with 3f
.

Any Help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

John V

Just ordered some stuff from TOW yesterday.... Picked up some 2F and caps at my local shop today and he suggested I try some .575's he had. Also said I could shoot 3f if I reduce the load, but gave no specifics. I intend to use 60gr 2f (mid road load)... any opinion on 3f and a load recommendation?

Ive never used 3FG in a 58cal but i have used it in a 54cal. Best advice is reduce the charge by 10-15% vs 2FG. The "skirt" on minies can be damaged as it exits if the load is too high.

Powders like Swiss are already finer grained than say Goex so if you use Swiss you may want to stick with the recommended powder.

I second GM54-120's statement. And definitely don't go to FFFG Swiss. If you go the Swiss route stick with FFG . It's been a while since I have inspected the barrel on one of those 2 band Pedersoli but do they use a deeper rifling? If they do then you may want to try a Maxi ball out of it. Minie Balls have a tendency to not perform well out of deep cut rifling where a Maxi absolutely loves it.

Just catching up on the post, thanks all for the tips. Going with Goex 3F and dropping the charge 10% for starters.
