Default The best Extreme Knight never made

I really love this rifle and at about $420 shipped to my door it was a absolute bargain. Since someone asked and photobucket killed 3rd party hosting i moved some pics over to Imgur.

The only things i added were a Lehigh NFPJ conversion and a TH stock. It came standard with a jeweled bolt(SS models only), unique laminate stock, plastic hard case and the best trigger Knight offered at that time. Knight was not producing MLs when GM sold these. GM originally made 250 in SS and 250 in matte blue but they never sold anywhere near all of them. Now they are insanely rare.

Green Mountain 54-120 Limited Edition Brush Gun

I added this TH stock i already had just for hunting so the laminate is still like new.

And yes it can shoot well at brush gun ranges. This was at around 80-90yards IIRC

Performance is flawless with the Lehigh NFPJ. Primers are virtually spotless even with max loads of BH209 and a 385gr Rem CLHP.

But! it wernt builded by Knight - all GM. Wernt they build when Knight lost its way and was in between being out of business and the current owners.

Thanks for the reminder. I forgot my yearly kick myself in the a$$ for passing up on this deal when they were available direct from GM.

GM sold these while Knight was only selling accessories and handling warranty/repairs. They also sold the 32cal "squirrel rifle" during that time which is even more rare.

The laminate stock on the 54-120 is unique. Grip feels thinner and the checkering on the forearm is on the bottom. Not on the sides of the forearm. The thinner pistol grip allows for a very tight hold and gives some room for heavy gloves. The trigger has the wide shoe like the Knight "target trigger" i bought shortly after PI acquired Knight. They appear to be identical.

Its still my opinion Knight should have made one and instead of the 52cal, they should have made a beast of a 54cal 1-26 to shoot bullets like the Rem 50-385gr CLHP. Mine shoots 54x50 sabots extremely well and a few 54x45s well too.

The Harvester 54x45s are super tough sabots. Max loads of BH209 and a 300gr bullet hardly phases them. The MMP 54x50 sabots they make for Barnes are also pretty tough. They are not just purple MMPs dyed red according to MMP. The pics i posted were pretty much all 110gr loads or more. You can see they hold up very well even with that 385gr bullet.

IIRC i was getting right around 1830fps with a max load of BH209 and a 385gr. More or less that is right in line with a 50 Beowulf.

I have a 50 cal Master Hunter Disc Extreme made by Knight It was sold with a laminated and black composite thumbhole stock, fluted barrel, jeweled bolt and adjustable trigger. I have added a lehigh bare primer breech plug and the Mountaineer bolt housing. I use it for 90% of my hunting. I have a Long Range Hunter that has the same changes and has been glass bedded. Both are very good shooters

I use mostly original Lehigh NFPJ conversions in all of mine but i also have a Bestill tungsten/cabide bushing plug made especially for my Super DISC. Its custom fit to that rifle but i imagine it would fit my 54-120 also as long as i use a Fed209. A Win209 is pretty tight in it already and Bestills plug was made to be a tiny bit longer.

I would love to have a Extreme based 45cal brush gun setup to shoot mostly heavy conicals. 1-24 or faster twist.
