Default White Super 91

Well I just sent an email to Thor bullets for a sample pack for this rifle. Just for giggles I saw it on an on-line auction, NIB, White Super 91 .504 caliber, so I put a bid in of $275 and just found out that that was the winning bid. Beautiful rifle from the pic. Stainless, grey laminate stock. I don't know what other bullets I will be able to shoot out of it without sizing my own. I'm going to check MMP and see if they make a sabot for this size bore. Pics will follow when received.
Seems every time I think I have enough muzzys, something comes along that I can't pass up. But I can blame this one on Cayugad. He's always bragging about how well his White shoots....Just kidding Dave.

That's a great deal if true Unusual to get laminated stock! Mmp orange sabots and daves no excuses bullets in the sabots or barnes originals.

504 is easy

458 bullet in a .451x50 sabot, such as the Black Crushrib.

MMP Short Black or Harvester Red CR may also work with a 451-452 bullet.

All of those should be at least .003 larger than land to land.

Here's the pic from the auction site. I have no idea of the twist rate on this piece. You White guys (no racism intended) please recommend a bullet weight range. I'm thinking as usual something in the 250-300 grain range.

White 50cals should be a 1-24 twist. If i was going to shoot sabots it would be 300gr and up that expand at moderate velocities. Rem, Hornady and Sierra all make a 458 300gr JHP that should do very well at speeds under 1800fps to as low as 1400ish fps.

Im rather partial to the Sierra myself. Its made specifically for lower end 45/70 performance.

Thanks GM - I've been doing some reading up on Whites and apparently Doc had done some accurizing on some of these 91s and put his initials on the fore action bridge. It would be terrific if that was the case. I'm sure that would make it a bit more valuable than a std production run rifle.

It's possible because of the laminated stock but would not increase value too much. Lot of guys don't like the laminated because of the weight. Also some of the rifles had some problems with the way they were built I can point out some things to check for when you get it. I also glass bed white rifles I have done about 10 so far if you want bedded ask sharpshooter I did his super safari conversion for him.
