452 Whitworth in a sabot
Has anyone used a 452 Whitworth conical in a sabot shot from a Bighorn? What charge was used that worked best? I will be using a Knight Bighorn with a 22" barrel with Goex powder; probably around 70 grains to start. I was given about 70 of these bullets that weight 440 grains. Any suggestions? Thanks

I have sized .458 405 Lee Mold bullets down to .451 and shot them in a sabot. I also shot the .458 in a ,.458 sabot. I found anything from 70 to 90 grains gave good accuracy in my Knight LK rifle and other rifles.

Cayugad, I also cast .458 for my 45-70 but it never shot so I swaged them down with my Lee swagger ( 20 mi. away from home) , put them in a sabot and they shot 1.25 " At 50 yds with a 3x scope and a cheap bench .
