Anyone know if this can be put back together or do I just need to get a new set of sights? Not sure what happened but it just pops apart with minimal pressure now.

Well it seems at this point you have nothing to lose so what I would do it reinstall it on the leaf then after you attach the screw and peen the end so the adjustment nut does not come off.
Try it and if it doesn't work I may have a spare lying around.
