rafsob: She said you couldn't get it mounted. But she didn't say nothing about getting the pelt tanned. They look good in a man cave with the entire pelt skinned and tanned from head to tail.

Congrats rafsob! Go shoot some more!

Bronko suggested what I would do... I always called that a "trappers mount".

[QUOTE=rafsob;4229036]..... I asked the little woman if I could get it mounted and she said, "NO!" ....
/QUOTE]

Have it mounted then give/loan it to a friend or family member that you might frequently visit. That way you get some enjoyment and someone else gets home décor.

Rafsob, I got a female coyote on opening day of Va. deer season this year. Its my second coyote during opening of deer season. We have a video of seven coyotes in one pack on our hunting lease. I did skin this one out and kept the skull as well.

Right through. It was more then I would ever need, but I was actually deer hunting. I do love that round and will be taking it into the woods more often. I didn't want to take her into the woods because she is so pretty, but finally did it.

I feel comfortable using it against just about anything, short of a huge grizzly, down!

Thanks for the info. I will do this with the next one. I know my rights and will listen to my favorite song, "The Man Song!" He knows what needs to be done:

While bowhunting last year I had a whole pack around me howling as I stood in an old dry creekbed. It was a very exciting moment to say the least. This February I will be doing my best to kill a few of them with a 223.

Had one area that I saw two coyotes on two different days. I'm figuring that there may be a den close by? Plan on doing the same thing and work this area.
