Art' 448 Grain Boolit
By the time these boolits came to Rapid City, they weighed a hair less than 447 grain. This morning they were shot through carpet, plywood, and into water jugs. Range was 25 yard. Powder charge was 80g Blackhorn.
The last photo shows the jugs after being shot. The first two jugs were placed in the wrong order, because i couldn't for sure tell which was which, until i saw the video. This is the second time today this happened.
The first jug the bullet hit was flattened; the second jug was severely damaged. The bullet, and wad both went through the third jug. The wad was found on the horse. The bullet was found under the horse. The bullet now weighs 442.7 grain. The width across the widest part of the mushroom is a hair less than 1 1/16". One and one sixteenth inches shy, is how a carpenter would say, up here in the North.

A little softer lead in them I think. The meplat is also smaller on these bullets. They also held together well which I like. I wouldn't hesitate to shoot any deer with these lightweights but I will use the heavyweights for elk, moose, and grizzly bears.
Thanks a bunch for testing them Ron, you the man!

Art, I'd have to venture and say that those would be good for Elk and Moose as well. Might want to be a bit selective on Moose and avoid heavy shoulder but a high shoulder for spine or a quartering away or through the lungs would probably be just fine. Big Brown on the other hand, well I aint dumb enough to go after him with a smoke pole anyway. Not without some serious backup anyway. I prefer my limbs attached
