Default 250 Grain Deep Curl

Lee requested these bullet be tested. This morning the Deep Curl Bullet was shot through the set of carpet, shelf, and into the jugs. Range was 26 yard. Powder charge was 80g Blackhorn.

The photo shows the set arranged as they were before the trigger was pulled. It is obvious the first, and second jugs were destroyed. The third jug was holed, and ruined for use as a target again. All of the bullet was found on the ground. It is in pieces, but the core never separated from the jacket, the bullet just busted. The weight of all the found pieces is 161.6 grain.

I would be careful what I used that bullet on. Looks like Deer only to me. A lot of better choices for sure.

I used that bullet for a while and it killed every deer I shot with it. But it seldom made two holes. After trying 300 grain XPTs and Deep Curls I stopped using the 250's completely.

Have you ever tried a 250grn XTP? I had no issues at all with it on Deer. Not sure how it did on Rons Test??

The 250grn XTP was only tested with 50grn of BH209. The XTP looks like a lot better choice then this bullet. I believe they are closely priced.

Shot them on paper but not on game. The 300's were generally more accurate for me.

I call them my 36¢ never-fail bullet.

I believe it is due to the design of the super deep hollow point. The 240 & 300 will do MUCH better.
