Okay that shortened up that list considerably! All those states eliminated were BORE SIZE not BULLET SIZE! Sheesh don't know where my head was at. Thanks for the gentle pull digging my head out there Grouse.

Grouse, I'd buzz Oldtimr with that question. It's been a good while since I hunted ML season in Pa but I would have to assume that the bullet requirements for regular firearms season would supersede the ones for ML during that season.

I would argue the point if it came down to it. I use a .401 diameter bullet (10 mm) in my .45 cal muzzy. The law states that I must use a rifle .44 cal or larger. It states nothing about the bullet. I am using a legal firearm period. The law does not state I must use a .44 or larger diameter projectile.

Yep, when scanning through all the state regs I was looking just for "minimum .45-.50" and didn't think about the bore size verses actual bullet diameter. That's a whole lot of scanning and I had meself a small brain fart. Happens to the best of us! But it did make for some interesting reading on a few states. Such as a couple of states not allowing solid copper (maybe that's their version of saying "California should mind their own business") while several others had absolutely no minimum requirements at all!
That one there brings about a good question. Think I'll pose it in a new thread.
