Does anyone know if the front sight dovetail is 3/8""

I am sure it would be the normal 3/8". Must be a in an older Williams front ramp.

Yep! they were 3/16" Williams Streamlined Ramps with a 1.625" hole spacing

That is the height from the barrel to the bottom of the Dove Tail.

Not that will fit a Knight. They do have shorter inserts for the ramp sight.

I normally use a .312N fire sight insert in the ramp. More than likely the bead you have in there now is a .375 bead. If you push the insert out - it might say on the bottom of it what height it is.

This link will take to the inserts - fire sight inserts. They start at .260N and get taller - the 'N' stands for 'Narrow'

You might also want to look at a fire sight hood. Adding this to you ramp and if you are looking through a peep you will get the illusion you are looking through a 1X scope.
