First Shot Flyers - Round 2
I posted a couple of weeks ago that using liquid graphite had tamed the first shot flyer with my Super Disc. Yesterday I went out to test it in two additional rifles.
#1) Disc Extreme 50 with a history of first shot flyers.
100 BH 209
300 SSTs
Short Black Harvester
#2 ) 45 Cal Master Hunter with horrible flyers.
100 BH 209
200 XTP
Smooth Blue Harvester
Both guns were swabbed with a wet patch, then a dry patch, then liquid graphite was applied at home. I shot two primers prior to loading at the range.
The 50 looks good to go. Not sure what happened on #4. I may have pulled it?
The 45 has me perplexed. This load has shot well in the past. #1 does appear to be out of the group.
Overall, the liquid graphite has completely solved two of the first three problem rifles.

Interesting report. Seems odd that it totally eliminated it on 2 of your guns, but not on the third. ?? Good shooting btw.
I hope some other folk will try this stuff on their guns that are known to have first shot flyers. Will be interesting to see what the overall consensus is. Also, I wonder if a different application/routine could potentially help or hurt.
I will try some at some point, but I don't have enough experience with first shot flyers yet to say what my guns do or don't do consistently.

Josmund...
I've used the dry powdered graphite as a lube for numerous things, but never a liquid graphite. I'm assuming it's powdered graphite suspended in some kind of liquid medium. Does the bottle list what that is? Graphite itself is a dry substance so they have to be mixing it with something.
