Well since I only have a 1 in 28 twist in my 45 my question is will they work in a 1-28?
How long are they? The 215 that is.

The 215 gr or 1" you will need the 185 gr at .870 long in a 1-28 to work best.

They MIGHT but you will need to load one of your hot loads to get them up to velocity and RPM's

1in long 40-215gr brass bullet should stabilize in my 1-22 at anything over 2000fps. I would be trying for 2400fps minimum but not more than 2700fps.

A 1-28 though would need a lot more than 2000fps according to the calculator.

If I was shooting 1:28, I'd get the 200gr bloodlines from Knight.

I'll be interested to see some more reports on the 215's...

I had better luck with the 185gr in the slower twist 45cal rifles. You dont need to shoot them nearly as fast to stabilize. Even the 200gr is better suited to a 1-24 or faster twist unless you enjoy loads near or over max recommended load data.

My old Elite shot one of its best 200yard groups with the original Lehigh 40-185gr.
