That's impressive if I go by that TV show I watched where it was telling that the shoulder plate is so thick it can stop a lot of things.
Some hog "experts" make a big deal about the shields. The shields are about like a bar of soft soap. i killed a 384 pound boar that was 19" through the shoulders. Shot that hog just behind the shoulder
with my .50 Encore. The 250 grain SST bullet went through both 1 1/2 inch "shields". It was found just under the skin on the far side.
