They both look like the same bullet what's the difference ?

The SST/ML and the blue tip SW 250 grain bullet with 110 grains of BH shoot about the same (very good). The Yellow Tip SW with 110 grains of BH, does not fair as well out of my Accura V2.
I have read that the yellow tip SW needs to be shot with 100 grains or less of powder, while the Blue Tip SW needs to be shot with 110 grains or more of powder.
I have seen first hand that the yellow tip SW with 100 grains of powder did not produce a pass thru, but had a perfect mushroom and devastating results, no blood trail.
As far as any differences between the bullets the only thing I can see is the color of the polymer tips. I don't know if it is true or not but I have heard that the SST/ML is not bonded and the Blue tip SW is.
As far as the Hornady SST bullet, that is a rifle bullet and I would think the expansion range would be a little higher than the average production muzzleloader expansion velocity. To be sure e-mail hornady and ask them what the expansion range in fps is for the SST bullet you are referencing.

Nothing, well, except for the color tip, Hornady makes the Shockwaves for T/C, they package them and sell as their bullet...

No difference in the makeup of the bullet though...

It was mny understanding the TC shockwave with the yellow tip is non bonded. The blue tip is the bonded version. I was told that the blue tip is suited for heavier game and higher impacts. Only ever used the yellow tip in the factory supplied black sabot. I am not sure how they compare the SST red tips.

Question: What is the sabot being packaged withthe TC Shockwaves (blue or yellow)? Is this the same sabot as the SST is using? I know people talk about what bullet is the most accurate in your particluar rifle, but sometimes I think it is the sabot instead.

Example: The 250gr TC shockwave yellow tip with the factory supplied black sabot is very accurate in my Triumph. I tried the easy glide sabots and could not get them to group.

Isn't the material composition of the SST V.S. The Shockwave different? I was with the understand that the Shockwave was a hard plastic like composite, where the SST was softer. Now I could be and normally am wrong. Its been ages since I purchased SST's. I just never see them on sale today.

But I was looking over my bullet supply today and noticed I have 400 rounds of 10mm 200 grain XTPs. Must have been on sale...

Them little 200 grain XTP shoot really well in both the .50 and the .45 caliber. I never shot a deer with one but I see no reason they would not work.

You are correct.

The SST has a soft red tip. The Shockwave has a hard yellow tip. I've killed about 25 deer and many dozen wild hogs with those bullets. Used them interchangeably for years. Then i noticed the Shockwave sometimes failed to expand on hogs where the SST did expand on the same sized hog shot in the same place; just behind the crook in the front lag. i no longer use the Shockwave bullets.

ok, the sst and the yellow tipped shockwave are the same bullet, the accompanying sabots with the bullets are black with the shockwaves, yellow with the sst's, the sst sabots are .001" smaller, load a bit better, so TC then offered the shockwaves with an easyload sabot, .001 smaller than the black ones.
then TC came out with the bonded shockwaves (blue tip) they are the exact same bullet as the sst and the shockwave except they coat the inside of the jacket with soldering paste which makes the core stick to the jacket slowing expansion.
as far as the soft tips on the sst's must be a new thing when I use to buy them they were nylon, like all the others
