Default Vortek UltraLight LDR time!

My .502" 250gr Thors came in today and fit like a snug glove! Very smooth loading, like silk. Im going to try them with 100gr BH209 at 70 yards for starters and then 100 yards later when its cool out.

It will be interesting to see how she does.

Got her out to 100 yards!

First 4 shots measure 1" center/center. I was extremely happy with that. I used 100gr BH209, .502" 250gr Thor, CCI 209 Magnum primers.

Lower 2 shots were me adjusting downward. I also made 12 clicks to the left after those 2 shots. Its dead on now.

Thats awesome shooting. Do you feel the extra length helps any? I noticed other companys coming out with the shorter versions. Did you get your replacemnet stock from Traditions yet? If not how long has it been since one was ordered.
As a side note I ordered that Burris scope from Carlos on your site. Going on my BAR II Safari grade I just picked up

yes the stock was like a week after i reported it cracked.

I dont know if the longer barrel helps to be quite honest BUT i have not shot 200 yards with it yet and i am sure if something is going to improve, it might be at longer distances.

Do you still have this gun or is it the one Carlos has for sale?
What is your final assessment ?
Is it a good gun or a piece of crap?

This one is mine. Carlos has a black stock gun up for a great price IMO.

Its a real good gun but there are some things about it i just do not like and could be improved on. The shape of the trigger right now is the biggest turn off for me. It puts your finger at an odd angle and tends to make you pull UPWARD rather than straight back.

That's some darn good shooting with what appears to be a darn good shooter. But I'm not bias.

I tried the 370 maxiballs with 70gr BH209, these hold 1 1/2: groups in my wolf but at 50 yards in the LDR, they shot poorly. I will experiment with powder charges tomorrow if i take it out shooting. I loved the 250 sabertooth bullets though! They loaded extremely easy and so I could not recommend them for hunting in this rifle. I am going to clean the gun and see if i can get the bullet to fall out of the bore like what they did to me one year while hunting LOL.
