Default Sabots and Round Balls

Have you ever shot a .451 caliber round ball with a .45/.50 caliber sabot out of a 1 in 28 inch twist barrel?

Never tried it. I would assume it is ok to do but not sure what the accuracy would be like. Probably would suck. But it would be fun with light loads - like maybe 60 gr.

I have never tried it. But next time I am shooting, I will give it a try.

Yep. I did it just for fun one day and found out it was fairly accurate. My initial intent was to use them for plinking. More than enough for rabbits, squirrels ect which was all I would every really use it for. I shot 50g of 777 and was getting golf ball size groups at 40 yards. I didn't go higher.

It might be like shooting with the old "poly patches" that were on the market some years ago for use with roundballs...

If I make it to the range tomorrow I might fire a few rounds and see how they act.
