Thanks to those that pointed me to "Lanes Tubes". I've been searching and trying different kinds of tubing trying to come up with one that would hold both BH and different sabots. This is so far is the best tube that I have found that does not allow the powder to get by the sabot. The tube was loaded and placed under water for over 24 hrs. Stayed dry inside.
The tubes are loaded with 77gr weight(110 vol). The double tube pic has a 290gr Barnes TMZ and a 300gr Scorpion PT Gold w/ Havester Crushed Rib sabot. Barnes EZ-load also works in this tube. I'm not selling, only showing the tube that is giving me the results I've been looking for. Tubes come 8", 25 lot). The tubes in pic's have been cut to 4". Order the caps(50 lot) from same outfit. Plastic vs BH209 = static. I push part of a "Bounce" laundry sheet through my tubes to cut down on static, especially in the cold. Seems to work good. These are not "Lanes Tubes" 290Barnes TMZ 300 Havester CRib (640x480).jpg
I've been using Lane's tubes for awhile now. I preload 250gr Shockwave w/sabot and 110gr BH209(vol). I put the bullet/sabot in first point down then the powder. I also use the sheets and have no problems loading the rifle using these tubes. You can't beat the price or the service. i just order 30 more last night and just got an e-mail that they have shipped. These are for friends who want to try them.
Lane's Tubes are top of the line in quality. I have used them for a few years now. Ever since he started selling them. I would be lost hunting without them. Although every time my hunting buddies see them, my supply of them get less and less. It seems they like them also. They are great at borrowing things for good. If you know what I mean.

Do these tubes have a tighter ID that truly keeps the powder from getting between the sabot and tube? Even while hunting and being in a pocket?
I love the tubes from Lane, as well. But, my sole problem (and it really isn't one) Is the ID allows powder to get between the sabot and tube. Almost at times making it almost immpossible to get the sabot and bullet, out of the tube. I have resorted to put powder in one tube and bullet and sabot, in another. this works out pretty good. Well actually, if I think about it, I prefer it this way. I have been reloading before with sabot and powder in the same tube and as I was pouring the powder into the muzzle, here comes the sabot and bullet pushing the powder too fast. Causing me to loose half my load.

My son and I have been using these tubes for close to 2 1/2 years. Carrying them in our coat pockets plus I shook the crap out of a few trying to see what it would take to get BH to pass the sabot. Without getting total crazy, everything stayed where it was supposed to. The sabot does not fit tight in the tube, but tight enough to not allow the BH to pass. Like you said, we also had the problem of the sabot pushing out the powder too fast causing us to lose some on the ground. We learned to lean the weapon slightly, pinch the sabot, tip tube to muzzle to pour in powder then let loose of sabot. We like it.
I will send you a PM

What powder are you using? BH209 is probably has the most consistent granulation. I suspect most other powders have at least a few small granules such that they can get stuck between the ID of the tube and the sabot.

I use the same system. Pinch the sabot a little and tilt the muzzle. I've used this hunting & on the range. I'm using a .50cal, I don't know if a .45 cal would be different.
Whilst hunting i carry 4 Lane tube in my pocket. Three tube are each filled with a measured powder charge. The one tube is filled with 3 bullet, and 3 sabot.

I am using BH209. As stated we have not had any issue with granules trying to pass the sabot. BUT Triple 777 powders fines will positively get around the sabot and lock it in the tube. Not fun.
