My CVA StagHorn makes good groups with the 280 grain .430 hard cast bullet. The bullet goes through both shoulders of a 250 pound boar hog and keeps on trucking. The heavier hard cast bullets are capable of killing anything on the planet.

I bet they do lol. everything i have read on hard cast bullets, states they kill quickly with the proper sized metplate.was interesting reading about what's called the splash affect caused by the hard cast bullet and the metplate.

Hardcasts do surprisingly well on game and will nearly always penetrate a broadside shot even through bone. Ive taken one deer with a 300gr hardcast made for 454/45LC +P performance level. It was a high shoulder angling down from a stand. He didnt take more than a step or two before rolling down the hillside.

Last season I personally Harvested 7 deer with my own cast , .452, 333 gr Hard cast Boolit , my mold is identical to the 45 cal version of Harvesters hard cast. Water dropped WW alloy is what I use.

The 430 version is what is know as a WFN, the .452 version is a LFN, I believe the basically have the same dia. Meplat. I could actually measure some .430 I have.

The designer of the Boolit recommends a MV of 1500 FPS for quickest Kills. That works well for my family and I.
