need help picking loads for whitetails with Optima. Most shots 50-100 yards.

At those short ranges a .452 gold dot/deep curl or XTP like lone wolf mentioned are plenty good.

yeah the hornady xtp 240gr with the supplied black sabots shot great in my Optima with 100gr Blackhorn209.

I have owned many CVA's and everyone of them shoots the .430 45cal 240gr XTP with a MMP HPH-24 Sabot Great with either 110grs of Pyro RS or 100grs of Pyro Pellets. I also found that all the CVA's like to shoot the 45.cal XTP's the best. I use either Win W209 or Win T7 Primers with pretty much the same results.
I have tried many other Bullets out of My CVA's but none have the accuracy and preformance as the 240gr XTP does, I have never lost a deer shot with the XTP's. Even better is the 1" 100yd groups and the 2-2 1/2" groups at 200yds.

I worked this load up for a buddy's Optima...

80grs Goex FFF blackpowder behind a 300gr Hornady .430 XTP inside a plain green Harvester sabot...
