These totals are very interesting. If I had to draw a conclusion I would say that market availability (XTP's are ready available) and cost (XTP's are usually cheap because they are made and sold by the gazillions) important factors.

Or could it be that it's just because the XTP's do there job.

Correct Breechplug; they do work well. Actually I suspect all the bullets on the list work well because they have been thoroughly tested by the good folks on this site.

if the XTPs were bonded core bullets I'd use them... I killed a buck with a .430 300 grainer back in 1997 but haven't used them since.

I like the Speer bullets since the core is bonded to the jacket.

I agree. I prefer the barnes, but the Gold dots shoot real well out of my Omega as do the XTPs. When it comes to hunting with the Omega, the Speers go down the barrel because they are bonded.

Be interesting to have the prices of the bullets listed with them.

I hunt with a ML very little here in Florida but why would you want a bonded bullet when it's only coming out of the muzzle at about 1800 fps or so? Seems that you would want a bullet that wouldn't be so toughly constructed for the vast majority of big game hunting.

Unless you were DG hunting where the utmost in penetration was required.

well considering most of the above are handgun bullets and when shot out of a ML they exceed the velocity that handguns produce by some margin...

and you don't get the core popping out of the jacket-the Speer Uni-cor bullets expand very well and remain together...
