Default Things I Learned Today

Never adjust your sights at home thinking you know what you're doing because it just creates work.
So after a bunch of target practice to get the sights where they were supposed to be.....again

First 2 were low left. Adj 2nd 2 were a bit higher. Then I had mystery shot. Next 2 were high right on the bull and the last 2 bottom bull right where I was aiming.

So it was off to the 3 shot embarrassment shoot again.

Getting better. At least I've got 2 in the black this time...ummm 1 in and 1 touching

Mystery shot, huh? I like that term, but plan to expand it to *#@*&^! Mystery Shot.

That's a darn group off hand group HuntAway.

Nice gun you got there.
Here she is with the Lyman peep on it.

Semi,
I kind of agree with you on the "Mystery Shot" naming. and that one was off the bags no less.

I'm changing the way I shoot this rifle. I'm finding that if my right arm is extended to the end of the stock and my index finger touches the ramrod that the rifle tends to track more smoothly and doesn't wobble like when I hold in close. Don't know why but it seems to work.

HuntAway, Don't listen to them. I wish I had one of them rifles with the lock on the "wrong" side. I don't like when that pan flashes in front of my nose. It can be very distracting.
And BTW, I remember you posting an offhand target with your flinter a couple months ago that was better than that. Maybe you shouldn't use a rest at all?!?!?

Been there and done that. My nun would chase us around the classroom. She always won though and caught us. And yes she was good at the ruler smack. She would stack a half dozen rulers together and smack us with them.
