Default Did I do ok cleaning my SS Encore?

I shot at and missed a coyote tonight (see my other thread about that). I was using a stainless steel TC Encore Prohunter. The breachplug seals very well so it gets nearly no blowback. So to clean it I pulled the BP and soaked it in Windex while I cleaned the barrel. I swabbed the barrel with Windex until clean, dried the barrel and then greased it. I cleaned the BP and re-inserted it. I then ran a dry patch to get the excess grease out and loaded it again for the next outing.

Since it gets nearly no blowback, I figured I didn't need to tear it all the way down since I will be hunting for 1 more month with it. After season I will tear it down all the way to clean it. Do you think that will be ok for a stainless steel gun? If it had been my Knight, I would have torn it all the way down because it is a blued gun and gets lots of blowback.

You did fine but you did not say what powder you used? Pyrodex is some kind of wicked stuff.

At least twice a year, I would do a full tear down and include the firing pin assembly in that cleaning. I would also do the complete clean anytime the gun gets very dirty either from blowback or otherwise.

Im a Super Clean Freak when it comes to My MLer's. I do a Complete Clean after I shoot it, even if it's just once and I mean everything that can be ytaken apart gets Cleaned. When I put it back togeather it looks's like Brand New.
Now of Course if I shoot it while Hunting I'll reload it and Not Clean it but when I get it Home I tear it down.
My Wife Works Nights so If I Shoot a Deer I have something to do at night while She's Working, I actually Enjoy Cleaning My Mler's.
What You did should be Fine for time being, but since you use Pyrodox Pellets if your Trigger Mech can be removed and Cleaned as well as remving your Firing Pin I'd clean that too, you dont want your Firing Pin to Carbon Up and Not Fire if You Need it Too.
I Clean My Barrel with Dish Soap and Water with a Nylon Brush, followed by TC No13 Bore Cleaning Patches untill a clear patch, then dry patch it, followed by a wet patch of Montana Extreme Bore Conditioner, I let the MX BC set it the Barrel for awhile, then Dry patch it twice and she's ready for Loading. I wont get into all the rest of what I do to the rest of the MLer to clean it......

With Pyrodex or black, it's also a good idea to re-clean your bore after a few days pass. I would leave the breechplug out until just before needed again.
