Two inches at 100 keeps me smiling.

In all honesty.. if the rifle will shoot two inch groups at 100 yards, I am a happy camper. Granted I always try to tweak the load and make it better, but I would hunt that dog any day. When I was shoot at 150 yards, I was shooting at a white paper plate. And hitting that paper plate made me real happy. Because I knew that there was slim to no chance I would ever have to shoot that far but it was nice to know I could. And once you learn the drop it was not all that hard. 200 yards.. never tried yet. And probably never will unless a wild hair hunts me down and gets me.

I have a centerfire that won't do 1"@100. My Omega will though, well it has at least twice. My .50 GPR flintlock will do 8" pie plates at 100 off the bench but I'd never hunt it that far out.

But really if your range is limited to 100 yds and less, a 4"group @100 is acceptable to me. If you are stretching it out to 200.... you would want that 100yd group as tight as possible cause an accurate 100 yd gun does not, necessarily, make an accurate 200 yd gun.

Acceptable for you may not be acceptable for me or smoneone else, or they may settle for less or more, everyone's different.
For Me, I shoot untill I get what I think My Mler will do, it will out shoot me, but I try to outshoot it. I prefer 1" Groups out to 100yds 1 1/4" to 1 1/2" out to 150 and 1 3/4" to 2" out to 200. Most of My shots are 150 and under with Most 75 and under. I shoot a-lot at 200 so the shorter shots seem easy.
A good Mler and a Good Scope will outshoot the Best Shooter, or should I say will shoot better than most shooters can shoot it.

I've never shot at 200 with a muzzy, only out to 120 or so. But for me, at 100 yards 2" groups (3 shots) is acceptable. My experience is that shot group sizes with muzzys can vary a lot from day to day (different powder charges, weather conditions, wind, the shooter - me- , etc.). I would prefer a muzzy that consistently, every day shoots around 2" groups, than a muzzy that one day shoots 1" groups, and the next day 4" groups.

I have shot 1" groups with a muzzy at 100 yards, but only a few times. Usually my groups are in the 1.5" - 2.5" range. And that is basically acceptable for me, although of course I would like to see better .

If we are talking realistic accuracy, one can easily get by with 4" 100 yd groups and be very effective. But like everyone else, I try to milk every drop of accuracy out of a rifle I can.
