Default Scope question

Hmmmmm i am seeing something very funky today in my bushnell scope.

I set up an 1.5" orange circle that has about a 1/2" black dot in the middle.

I went to shoot it at 100 yards and noticed that the black bulls eye section was low left of the orange dot. I moved my head/eye around and the black dot would do a complete 360!

Whats up? is this scope taking poop or what? I had previously just finished shooting a 2" 5 shot group out of the wolf at 100 yards and it looked normal then.

Its called parallax, evidently your scope is set for 50 yds is off or is adjustable and you have not set it for that distance. This is why the shot gun scopes are really not suitable for inline muzzle loaders they are all set at 50 yds and the parallax is going to cause larger groups at 100 yds.

You dont set it, unless you have a adjustable parallax ring typically located on the objective bell.................Here is a read for you Jon

I read something like that awhile back befor I bought My MLer Scopes, it made sence. So I settled for a Leupold Ultimate Slam MLer Scope and a Bushnell Dusk to Dawn MLer Scope for My Mlers.

Interesting article. Thanks for posting.

On my 1 ML I have the Leupold shotgun scope. It's parallax is set at 75 yards. I typically hunt in areas where I only shoot about 50 yards max. It has worked out fine.

On my other ML, I have the Leupold Ultimate Slam. Honestly I cant say I notice that much difference between the two. I may need to pay a little more attention next time I go to the range.
