Ouch. Believe it or not, that happened to me and my friend also. We were pheasant hunting and about lunch time we laid our shotguns down in the grass being careful to point them in a safe direction and sat down to have a bite. After a while, my lab was getting a bit edgy and stepped on the trigger housing of my friend's 1100 pushing off the safety and depressing the trigger. No one was injured but it was a lesson learned. Even when taking a break, when the weapon is not in your complete control, unload it.

what a freak accident. But its one reason I was always careful when the dog was around. He was gun crazy and would get so excited by just the mention of shooting.. Yet outside he behaved perfect.

Leaving a loaded gun across the bow of a canoe and a dog still in the canoe!! Man that is an Accident waiting to happen.

Clearly his own fault and yet he blames the safety! Boy was he lucky.
