Default Deep Curl 300's ???

I finally got to give the Speer Deep Curl 300gr. bullets a try today. I was pleased with the accuracy considering I had a 10-15 mph wind that was gusting from right to left. Im sure the groups would shrink to close to an inch on a calm day. I sighted them in at 2 inches high at 100 yards. I was using my Encore Endeavor with 110gr. of BH209, Win 209 primer, Harvester short black sabot, and of course the Deep Curl .452/300gr. bullet. My question is, what kind of velocity should I be expecing and what distance should I be good to sighted in 2 inches high at 100 yards? Thanks for the help and all the recommendations for using this bullet. Can't wait to try them out on some game in the coming weeks. I promise my next report with them will have pics.

I would guess you velocity to be someting like 1850 fps. The chart below will get you in the ballpark regarding trajectory.

Thanks guys. Thats what i was looking for. I figured somewhere between 1800 - 1900 fps. Thanks agiain for your help. What do you guys think about trying 115 and 120 gr. of BH209 just to get a little extra umph and a little flatter trajectory?

Well, let's assume a 120 grain charge will get you up to 1950 fps. The extra 100 fps won't do a whole lot for trajectory and the recoil may start to beat you up.

How far do you expect your most likely shot to be, and your longest shot to be?

Majority of shots will be under 100 yards. Just wanted to get the best trajectory possible out to 200 yards. Doesn't look like it would make thaat much difference. Just over an inch at 200 and thats if the groups stay together. Thanks again for the help.

I forgot how I got my figure but I am using 1992 fps for the same load. I"ll chime in later when I have time, after I figure out where I got that number.

I thinik 120gr 2,045. I didnn't see how mr. fancy pants attached a picture directly inline, but I put the average for 120gr in bullets >275gr in a spreadsheet and have it attached here. There is some variability though. This is based off of the bh209 website load data
