Default holy fog batman

how are you suppose to hunt in fog that you can't even see 150yrds with out an scope. then when you put an scope up all you see is white.

woke up this morning died set on hunting. looked outside. could not see the bottom of the yard witch is only 50yrds. went back to bed. I hate driving in the stuff. woke back up about 1pm (worked to 2am this morning) still could not see any thing in the fog. my uncle came up to the house, he was out hunting. all he ended up doing is driving around because he could not see. he hunts about 5 miles from where I was planning to hunt.

I will make this bold statement.

no matter what brand, the cost, and the make of scope. when mother nature decides to fog you up, you are sol unless you are shooting open sights. lol

While in fog you can not shoot extreme distances as well, its a great time to slow stalk a deer. If you head to where deer normally bed down, you will find they have not moved to far out of it. For they also can not see, so they are very careful where they go. Keep the wind in your face, walk slow, and look as far out ahead of you as possible. I like hunting in fog and snow storms for that very reason.

I love to hunt in the snow and ice storms. rain I'm getting better. fog, driving to the location is what worries me. just some people are nuts in bad weather around here. I would of missed the road I would have to take to get to where I was going to hunt. I miss it in the best weather.

99% of the places I hunt I can't see 150yards on a clear day. I don't mind hunting in fog though. I've had fairly good sucess. You get to shoot ghost bucks on those days

Fog is bad news especially in the valley's.
I hate rain just as much--miserable & deer don't like to move in it.
Now,just after a rain--thats a different story!

I've never seen much action in a fog either. Love a light rain though. Or even better, the first hour or two after the end of a real gully washer.

Fog has it's up's and downs......yea I agree if you can see 150 yds then your doing good. I've Hunted in Blizzards where you could'nt see more than 50yds at Best and with the snow falling at the rate of an 2 inches and Hour, every few minutes you have to shake yourself off just to be yourself.
TIP......I always keep a few sheets of BOUNTY in My Pockets of My Hunting Coat and Pants Pockets, I have a few and make sure there DRY, theese are My Spares. The One I use I keep just tucked inside My Coat next to My Chest so I can grab it and wipe off the Scope Lens in a Hurry if I Need it. When it's Snowing that Hard and Fast it's almost Impossible to keep your Scope Clear.....and YES I have a Couple of sets of Butler Creek Scope Covers, yah, they keep they scope snow and rain free, but when it's snowing hard, I have had them Freeze Shut and when I tried to open them, they would'nt. so now I just keep the Ol Faithful Bounty Paper Towels handy and when I need to clear the scope Lens I have them close and ready.
I NEVER Complain about the Weather and what it's doing outside, the Deer have to Live in it and they do just fine, If I want to Hunt them in the same weather I just have to find the ways and means to do it also, JUST ADAPT AND HUNT!

Got to agree with your statements. If you want to kill deer you got to be out. I only get so many days a year to hunt, so I try to make the most of them.
