Default Big Boar/Renegade Hunter (single trigger) Question

I recently picked up a T/C Big Boar that appears to be unfired in really good condition. This is my first single trigger T/C muzzleloader (have 3 other renegades all double triggers). Anyway my question is that I noticed the other day that the trigger has free travel/play/slop in it whether it is ****ed or not, but when the hammer is ****ed when you pull the trigger back until it stops moving it has a very nice light crisp let off/break. Anyway like I said this is my first single trigger T/C and I'm curious if anybody else out there has one and if there trigger does the same thing or not. Thanks in Advance

I did have a single trigger model at one time a TC and a Lyman. I believe on both cases there was a measure of 'take-up' before the trigger reached the point that it actually started the trigger release. And yet both triggers had a very good release.

Take Up! That is the term I was trying to think of. Thanks for your response.

I have single trigger T/C rifles. The amount of take up varies from rifle to rifle. But all of mine break nice and clean when you feel that spot. I am not sure if that is adjustable or not. A question perhaps to T/C or in the manual.

The trigger "take up" dosen't seem excessive or anything, it is just that my double triggered guns don't have any. So it's sounding like the single trigger models do have some trigger "take up" which is good news for me because I want to try and sight this gun in early this week and use it later in the week. Thanks for the response guys.
