Default 250gr REAL bullets

Got my single cavity 250gr REAL mold in the mail today and so i fired up the stove, cut some chunks of lead off the pipe and started casting once the lead and mold were up the temperature.

Beautiful little bullets! They cast smooth and clean.

Took the CVA Hawken .50 out about 15 minutes ago with 70gr Pyrodex RS, lubed wad and the new bullets i casted and perfectly center and a good little group. My 3rd shot opened up the overall group but its no biggy, my 50yrd range table tends to rock back and forth and so i never judge my 50 yard groups on that thing. Perfectly 1.5" high and should only need a few clicks up once i work my way out to 100 yards the next time out.

Hahaha, its nice casting bullets and then being dead on right off the bat. Makes things easier on you. These are some short little bullets thats for certain, Perfect for deer.

We'll find out tomorrow. Plan on trying them in the Optima with a .501 bore along with 70gr American Pioneer 2f.

Pluckin, I'll send you a pm.

My first wife use the 45 real bullet and 90 grains of RS, she took a lot of deer with them.

Good luck with the REAL's. I never could get them to shoot very well in many of my rifles. Especially the lighter ones. However I know several people who have had good luck with them. Just not me. I have always had more luck with the heavy for caliber conicals. Maybe I am biased IMO towards the heavies, and that is why I shoot them better?? I honestly don't know??

I have got a few of the REAL molds I need to sell since I don't use them. Tom.

I know what you mean HEAD. I wish Lee would make a 420 grain REAL mold in .50 caliber.

the 320 REALs are amazing in the Hawken and Mountain Stalker. I just wanted a lighter bullet for deer hunting. Could be used for elk as well but i'd have to harden the head up a bit more.

my silver eagle likes the 250gr lee reals, after the last time I took it out with anything over that I had an scope go south on me.
