After working with the Loose Pyrodex and the Pellets. Im going to take the Cabelas Hawken out side tomorrow and give her a try with the 320gr REALs and the 454 Lees!

Thats fun just seeing how consistent and how fast they go.

Mountaindevil54 ,
At how far are you shooting when you are testing ? And have you ever try'd to shoot at different spots over the graph (up or down) ? I know when getting our target bow's ready for tournament season you could shoot low in the graph and get a different reading than when shooting higher in it.

I aim 4" above the reader and straight through the center. Instructions said to keep it in the 4" high range for best results. I have a piece of duct tape on it that helps me figure out where to aim.

While you're playing around. Do some long rage Thor tests on the load we're going to use.

We're getting warm weather for the next 3-4 days.

We were at the range the other day shooting the 200 yard targets and a buddy had his graph set up and wanted me to shoot through it to see how consistent Blackhorn 209 was. With the graph about 4 foot in front of the bench (with gaurd) useing a knight 45 Elite and 110gr of powder and a 195gr Barnes bullet it was showing 2208, 2204, 2206 . I had a11/4inch 3 shot group about 71/2 inch low and 1/2inch left(slight wind right to left) Needless to say the first look at the powder was impressive.

thats pretty close. I normally set mine 12 feet out. If its to close it can give you false readings.
