Default Knight 52 Disc Extreme Pinnacle 3 FFF Hunting Accuracy

Well was wondering about all the hype of Pinnacle,Shockeys,APP,Alliant MZ powder being not so good, so I had done some horse trading with a forum member for some Pinnacle 3 FFF that is about 5 to 6 years old based on info from Powder Inc.

Sorry about the Target marking I had help from the two kids today, fighting the whole time on who was doing a better job. The wife was on me to let them help, so wanting to just shoot some groups and get in for football I gave in.
I used a marked target from the spotting scope cause I could all ready see what was going to happen with these two kids helping

Shot from Shooting Sticks and off hand as well !!!!
Knight 52 Disc Extreme
Bare 209 Conversion plug that came damaged threads and all
No Tape on Plug bare as a babys butt
Win 209
Pinnacle 3 FFF 120gr
Cast Performance .475 dia 375gr Sledge Hammer
Knight 475 Sabot
Swabbed with GOJO after shot 7

Shot one was off hand and at 25 yards by my son to see if any scope problems have arouse since last sighting in with Pinnacle
All other were shot by me. Shot two off hand at 50 yards, Shot 3 at 100 and off hand, Shot 4 on the shooting sticks, five, six and seven off hand the gun started to get heavy at this point

Swabbed with GOJO and shot 8 on the sticks, nine and ten off hand, eleven and twelve on the sticks I had a hard time seeing twelve through the spotting scope so I walked down and seen it in my first shot hole !!!

Between shot 7 and shot 1 and 12 is only 5.75 inches
Was pretty happy for hunting accuracy with a powder that everyone says isnt so good!!
I figure swabbing after every shot and on the lead slead this old water absorbing powder would be moa testing will come for this as well...

Next photo is opening the Pinnacle big old clump I smiled.
I stuck my finger in the jug and she was pretty hard below the top inch of powder so I just broke it up and drove on..

Powder, bullets, loads, and guns should be tested on a bench.

Then compared to a good powder (BH) if it's a powder you're testing.

I always thought Pinnacle had a good rep? It was very popular in CAS.

That Pinnacle powder I used to shoot a lot, when Powder Inc sold it. I liked the 3f grade. And I had excellent accuracy with it. It also shot real well in my black powder revolver.

Kind of nice to shoot different powders. Good job there. And the kids do have to have their fun as well.

Yea they were running back and forth the hole 100 yards so they are pretty worn out now I was laughing I only walked it for the last shot cause I thought I missed.

Dave your right about the different powders I am going to get some swiss coming and then shoot some real black as well.

I just get tired of everyone saying how only one powder is the best and nothing else will compare to it. I think when people get onto the forum they need to see there is more than one way to skin a cat it all come down to what the shooter wants and likes...

I agree, try everything you can and judge for yourself. One reason after being told of the BlackHorn 209 deal, I ordered some more. I liked it a lot when I first tested it. But that has been a while and I really want to try it again. Might have to purchase a new rifle just for that reason... Good a reason as any wouldn't you say?
