Default Knight .50 Cal MK 85 Primer?

I bought the Knight MK 85 from a friend of mine a few years ago. he gave me everything I needed at the time but I recently ran out of primers. Which ones should I go with? I bought the Winchester Triple 7 209 Primers but they don't fit in the capper I have. I honestly didn't realize how many different kinds are out there. Can I use the ones I have and just buy a different capper? Thanks for the help. I would ask my buddy but he is deployed with the military right now.

Wait, has this been converted to take 209 primers, or does it still take #11 caps or musket caps? Do you have a picture of the ignition system? With a little more info, we could probably help more.

Yes it is a converted. I just looked up one of the kits online and it is the same set up as what is on the gun.

Actually I stand corrected. I looked up #11 Caps online and those are exactly the ones I had before. They are also completely different from the ones I just bought so I think I have answered my own question.

Yep! Think you figured out the problem... #11 nipple appears to be in that picture...

That looks like a nipple for #11 caps. I don't think it's a musket cap nipple, but I'm not exactly sure what the musket cap nipple looks like. I'm sure someone on here can tell you for sure what it is, but I'm 90% sure it's takes #11 caps. It definitely doesn't take 209 primers though.

Yes that uses #11 caps. You can buy them at Walmart.

Yes you can. They sell the Winchester #11 caps at Walmart.

I prefer the CCI Magnum ones, but it's just a personal preference and I get them at a local shop. I've used the Winchester ones also.

Do not settle for regular #11 caps - make sure you get #11 Mag caps or Dynamint Noblel 1075+ caps.
