Default Alliant Black MZ

Peterson's Hunting magazine had a nice write up about the powder and was wondering if anyone else read the article.

"4 years in the works ...Black MZ is based on Ascorbic acid, eliminates corrosive sulfur altogether and has additives to tame the hygroscopic agents still in mix...testing at 70* 95% humidity for 14days found only a gain of 2% water weight, while the competition gained up to 25%...lower ignition temps...easy use with #11 caps..use right in pan for flinters....only a slight hint of crud ring after 7 shots... velocities very close to BH-777." I only gave short snips of article.

just got 2 cans but probably wont play around with it for a while. wish they would have bought out the black mag3 company or rights to produce it. i was hoping this was the case. i saw on review that the person had poor accuracy due to lube in the barrel. Cabelas has it on sale 23.99$

Have you opened a can yet? If so move the powder around and see if it comes with a dehumidifier pack in it...

The new APP/Shockey Gold Super powder i bought does. And as advertised it is much better with velocity than the old APP. But it clumps up very easily.

You can see the clumping beginning in this bottle and the lid has been closed. It breaks up very easily though..

Here is one with a dehumidifier pack showing...

This what the powder looks like...

Remember this is the new APP Super Powder - not Black MZ

Weight was nearly the same as APP and real BlackMag weighed a little more than real BP by volume. Its highly probable its relabeled APP and not remotely close to the last version of BlackMag.

I honestly do not know that...

You will know when you open the bottle - if it smells like molasses

I read the article also and it says it's being produced at the APP factory.
