Default Range Report - 300gr Speer Deep Curls

After a possible bad experience with 260gr Harvester PT Golds last season, I have been out to try to get an absolutely devastating bullet to group well in my Omega. After a very short range session this evening (all I had time for), I am happy to say that I may have found my load:

Constants:
T/C Omega Z5 (yeah, the cheapie!!)
110gr BH209
CCI 209M
300gr Speer Deepcurl

Range:100 Yards

The top group is using the Harvester Black Crush Rib Sabot. I did not like how it was grouping, so I only shot 4 times.

The lower group is using the Harvester Short Black Sabot. I am VERY pleased with this, especially (if recollection serves), we get to throw out the worst shot of a 5-shot group!

All that's left is to move this puppy to zero.

What you have there, certainly should do the job. Plenty accurate, and you can count on that bullet without reservation. One thing is for sure, it won't blow up when it first hits hide, but it will expand, and do some horrific tissue damage, before it exits the critter.

Nice. Now go put one thru both shoulders of a Whitetail. Should be an easy tracking job!

Thanks everyone! I would have lived with a 2" group, but I'll have so much more confidence in a 1" group with a devastating bullet, especially when hunting the mountains. Can't wait to put the smack down on the first of the season!

Easy there, talkin' 'bout ruining one of my favorite parts of the beast, especially both of 'em! I need to post the recipe, but if you keep those front shoulders whole and cook 'em just right, they are tastier than any venison roast I've ever had. And let's be honest, nobody likes butchering the front shoulder. What a PITA!

Super group there 7.62NATO, Even if you don't get a chance to close that group in on the bulls eye, I would feel comfortable taking a 100 yard shot at a deer with that rifle and load. Good luck this season!

Oh no you wouldn't. POA for the top group was the center of the target, and the POA for the lower group was the bottom sticker.

Good luck to you too!!
