I just posted a range report of my close quarters combat muzzleloader.

I have a sidelock - a T/C White Mtn Carbine, 1:21 twist (or something like that). Shoots good.

I don't have any sidelock carbines. But my little Omega X7 is about the handiest woods stalking and tree stand gun I've ever owned.

If I wanted a sidelock carbine I would begin looking for a Renegade and cut it down. Or better yet, find one with a rusted out barrel and pick up a Green Mountain 21" LRH barrel for it.

I put the Green Mountain, 50 caliber, 21 inch, 1:28 inch twist carbine on my Renegade. The barrel is not that expensive and shoots really well. You should get one. I might have some old targets if you want to see them. I have not put a scope on it so the targets were shot with open sights.

Definitely good options I really like the Renegades stock and how it holds -
I may convert one of the >50's I have this route -
Pluck- definitely would like to see a target and also a picture of the rifle when you get a chance - just thinking today, in a climber may be the best option with shots 50-60 yards

50 yards

75 yards

I can't find any pictures of it with the new barrel on it.

I own two carbines. Both are made by CVA. Both are .50 caliber. Both have a 1-32 twist. One is a Stalker Carbine, and one is a Tracker Carbine. They shoot conicals pretty good, but I consider them a 50 yard rifle. They are great for tree stands and walking in the woods where you are in close quarters. But I really seldom shoot them.

Here's one more. This one was at 100 yards. Open sights (believe it or not) of course.

Just so you don't think I'm cherry picking targets, Here's another one at 100 yards.
