Default Good over powder

After the first of the year I am going to start ordering in powders and primers in bulk.

looking for an good over powder that will cover, sidelocks to inlines, I have one flint, and one pistol.

I know most of my guns like pyrodex p, but that does not help with the flint.

bh209 is out of the question. I am not an fan and only have one gun at the moment that is able to shot it.

so my thoughts. pyrodex p for the pistol and rifles minus the flint, and get Real black powder for it

or

just get Real black powder and be done with it?

I use Goex FFF for everything...I have used Pyrodex and 777 when I was able to buy it real cheap at WalMart...Pyrodex didn't do anything Goex won't do and the crud ring 777 left in my Knight turned me away from that...

Goex is cheaper that the rest and ignites and cleans up easily...

The only thing I have found that really works well in a flint is FFF blackand FFFF for prime.

In my opinion Swiss would be a better choice. I only say that because you want only one powder for multiple Muzzleloaders including Flintlock.

Swiss really is the king. Good fps (close to T7) and a very low extreme FPS spread....Plus it will nearly always go bang.

I could easily live with GOEX FFFg in all of my rifles. In fact, I pretty much do except when I can pick up Pyrodex or T7 cheap at WalMart's end of season sales.

For my flinter I use FFFg in the pan and for the charge. Ignition is just fine.

3F will work great for both. 3F will even work in the pan if you need that to happen. Personally I like Swiss Null-B or 7F black for my charging powder. But in a pinch I have used 3F in the pan.

I buy my BP from Powder Inc. Great prices. Fast shipping. And a nice guy to deal with. Tom.
