Default silver eagle and win apex

to start the day out an guy had an 30 cal browning.

cell pic

I got to shoot it

should of seen the smile on my face

all shots made at the 50yrds line
loads
silver eagle 50cal
85grs of pyrodex p
win
patch round ball, felt patch .011 - .013" wonder lube. had two touching rest bad, blow patches,
patch round ball, canvas . .015 -.018" 50 crisco/ 50 tc natural lube 1000 plus. tight patches, a ton more seal, heard the air rushing out, alot more recoil then even 250gr lee reals.
Lee REALS 250gr, custom lube, make to the drawing board, vertical groups
lee reals 250gr, 5Tbls of crisco/ 5Tbls of liquid wonder lube. no vertical groups, if I did not pull my last shot, I may have had something. (going to work powder charges with this lube)

still trying to figure out round ball on this thing, maybe I been to check to see if it is an 1:48 twist.

win apex 45cal.
75grs triple 7
triple 7 primers (checked notes, these primers did not work well with this gun)
lee improved minnie, 2part crisco, 1 part 91% alcohol. 1 oz of gulf wax. also with straight tc natural lube, small leading issue, was able to get an 4in 3 shot group at 50 yrds on an regular bases. had two flyers out of 5 shots,

LEE real 45cal 250grs, straight tc natural lube. had two touching, rest well all over the place.

got the guns home, started cleaning the sliver eagle, took the scope of to clean under it and it self, the front base was really loos, few choose words. all tight now, as well as checked the rings. pretty much does away with most of what I learned today on that gun other then the patches.

I will post pics tomorrow of the targets.

it was cool shooting it, made sure it was before shooting my muzzleloaders.

here are my sorry targets, I will figure these things out lol

correction on my first post, it is an flannel patch. with wonder lube

this is really my final target of the day. my wonder lube/crisco worked better then just about anything else I have tried very little leading, and not really an virtual had an hang fire on my first shot, and pulled my last shot. I just wonder if those two things did not happen what it would have looked like.

combo target can't remember the lube on the reals on this one.

apex with lee improved minnie, gun likes the bullets, just need to find the right powder charge for it.

please note, I numbered the shots wrong. the nice round holes are 45cal 250gr lee reals

plans for the next range session is to low the charges to 60 to 65grs and work up on both guns. working primers on my win apex, if I remember right that gun likes cci primers

One thing about REALs. They sure cut nice holes in a target.
