Default Knight Big Horn in the Rock Pit

Well I shot the Big Horn last night @ the farm... but it was brief because of darkness, so this morning I headed to the Rock Pit, hoping to spend a little more time working the kinks out.

Got to the pit around 7:30… perfect conditions, little wind, cool, and the best no one else was there.

The goal this morning was to get some 100 yard shooting in with the gun and shoot a 100 yard target. I do not know why but I am not much into shooting paper anymore it is much more fun to shoot thing that fall down or break.

Walked out to the rock wall and set up the paper target and some birds on the wall. I felt the gun was pretty much sighted in from the short work out last night so I went right to the target.

I was really happy with that first group that I shot… but then I screwed up… I decided I could make it better by raising the elevation a couple of inches and the POI right and inch… This is the point at which I have said before…. I hate slide and glide sights… they make no sense to me… but in reality they are probably fine for hunting accuracy. Anyway after shooting group one I decided to make that move… So then I tried to slide-glide and GUESS what I thought was about right… Well the height worked out about right – but the windage I got backwards (dummy) and it moved far more than a INCH. Slid and glid it back to where it was and finished the shoot… Can not wait to change the sights!!!

Here are the pics….

For open sights, that is some real good shooting. Even with a scope that would be good shooting to me. That rifle is really doing well.

How long of a barrel does that one have?

Dave, i really wish i could say that I could do that everytime I sat down on the bench... but we both no there are good days and bad days....

The odd thing was that I was just loading and shooting because I really could not see those small little holes from the bench. I just decided that I would shoot my three - then walk up and check... when I did - i saw no need for Semi's shot #4 or 5... Actually I wish I hand not even moved the sights...

Scott and I talked about putting a peep on it - I hope he is ready for one I just ordered the Williams FP peep... headed back out with the gun when I get that installed. Since it is his rifle if he does not want it I guess I will have an extra...
