Default 45cal. conicals are getting hard to find

Is it just me or is this true for everybody? I have a chance to get a 45cal. T/C Hawkins in great condition, but find full bore conicals is darn near impossible to find.

I still can't figure out why they call the traps "Live Traps". All the Racoon and Possum that I catch in mine never come out that way.

No Excuses has some if you don't mind heavy weights. PR has some 330-360gr fancy ones but they are WAY over priced. Buffalo Bullets are back in business and i know they used to offer a 325gr HP but i never got them to shoot as well as most other conicals.

We have molds we got from a compamy in southern IL and the REAL bullet work quite well I got several others from them while we were there and they offered to custom make if we wanted to pay their price but since this was 20 years a go while the first wife who liked to shoot conicals in a 45 was still alive and she was the one who hunted up the place I have completely lost the name.

when bullshop opens back up for buisness, you might give him a call, $28.00 for 100 conicals is extremely reasonable in this day and age. if you call him. let him know the rifle caliber, twist and bore diameter and i am sure he will fix you up with some accurate conicals.. depending on local shops, especially for conicals can be frustrating.. Yep, he has the best selection and pricing. He does 99% of his work through emails though. Calling him isn't the best way according to the gal i talked to last year who answered the phone. She told me to use his email.

$28 for 100 cast bullets?? WOW I must be getting old and cheap. Lordy I can remember buying 500 cast bullets-with or without GC's for less than $28.

If I had a little more ambition I should start selling some(ya right).

Heck even if they were 500 grain bullets that would be less than 7# of lead. So over $20 in labor to pour 100 bullets?? That is making some good money. Tom.
