Default CVA Wolf loads help?

Once again...I couldn't help myself from the $149 black blued cabelas special. I have a scoped omega and scoped accura and want to keep this little wolf unscoped for now. Perhaps a brush gun or shooter for my son out to 50 yards or so with the OEM optic sights. Any favorite loads? I was thinking 90 grains or so with SST or XTP. Thanks for the help

The SST is very accurate and for hunting if you want a bonded bullet tha Bonded Shock Wave the same weight will shoot the same POI.

Although I much prefer side locks I do have a Wolf that my grandson gave me for my 70th birthday. Mine does best with 85 grains of Pyro RS and the Horanady 44-300 HP/XTP sabots. Horanady doesn't market them anymore but our hardware store had fifteen boxes that weren’t selling and let me have them for five bucks a box. It does almost as well with 80 grains of RS and 250 gain CVA Slick Loads. Two years my youngest boy took a 14 point buck at 180 yards using the Horanadys with my Wolf with open sights. After that he sold his T/C Omega and bought his own Wolf So far this year he has taken 26 hogs, he lives in Texas, and filled his deer tags with it last season. He uses Horanady 45-300 sabots and swears by both the gun and the Horanadys.

.40 cal 200 grain XTP, MMP .50/.40 sabot, 70 grains T7 FFFG. Very accurate, recoil is like shooting a .410 shotgun with field loads.

OOPS...I think that bullet has been discontinued.

Yep, it has. Sorry.
It was a good group though.

I know how you feel. I'm a real SUCKER for a dirt cheap muzzle loader.
