Default Kids Love LittleHorns

I figured 2 kids at a time is sufficient to work with so I took the two younger ones out to get a feel for shooting . They have exactly 4 weeks from today til deer season for them starts. I just wanted to see if they could geton paper without to heavy of a charge so that they started flinching. So i started them with 50 gr 777 250 gr shockwave standard black sabot. They will be hunting with Bloodlines but those haven't arrived yet.
Anyway they are only shooting 50 yards, I figure if I can't get them that close to a deer something is wrong. I thought I had a photo of Susanna's target but I guess not. Her group was about like her brothers only 6 inches higher. I didn't do any scope adjustment yet. Micahs was pretty right on right out of the box. They only took 3 shots each because it was so hot out and I just wanted them to have fun. I think with a month to go and a few more practice sessions they should be good to go. As long as they are minute of deer that ok for me.
Susanna will be 10 in 4 days and Micah is 11.

it is definately nice to get kids out like that......unfortunately my son, did not get my genes......his mother was a anti-hunter from day one (thought i could change her after 4 years it was divorce time) well you know, not the whole reason but did play into it. So, when it comes to hunting he has her believes. No matter what i have tried, we just do not see eye to eye. so, now that he is 19 i have given up and moved on to my nephew.

Took him out last year, first year and he sat with me. we had a doe and several fawns come in and he lined up his sights and took long enough i thought they were going to bale. he finally shot the doe and she fell. and several more jumped in from the other side. he said what do i do now? I told him to keep shooting if he wanted (he was using a shotgun and where we hunt, he is allowed 8 doe) He shot five times and did get three..... I was a proud uncle and you couldn't wipe the smile off of his face for a month..... It is a great feeling to help a yougster get hooked on hunting..... he is definately hooked and we go to the lake property he is never in the house, soon as we get there he is grabbing a pole, his supply bag and he is gone....So, he has already told me, he is going to take a bigger buck than me this year..... i am worried he will, and he will never let me live it down.
