Default .50 GM 1 in 28, .458 bullets

Originally was a TC hawken, but restocked to a thumbhole of my own design. Started out shooting 777 w/off-the -shelf sabot/bullet combos, latest was Hornady SST 250 grain. Good results.

Now, I have picked up a case of Goex, and would like to use up my left-over .45-70 bullets. All .458's, 300 gr jacketed flat nose, 350 gr jacketed round nose, 405 gr cast round nose, and 500 gr cast round nose. My plan is to use MMP orange sabots, if someone can tell me a good place to get them.

The biggest question I have is starting loads for each of the bullets, and any other suggestions you may have, or any other sites for this type pf shooting. I did search back posts, but didn't find any specific info.

Thanks, Paul

If you have any Harvester Crush Rib sabots for .452 bullets you might give them a tray also. I can load .458 bullets with them in one of my .50's.

The Black CR might be a bit short for 400gr or above. The MMP Orange should be fine with a 405gr. 500gr is going to be tough to stabilize in a 1-28 unless you like pain.

Just found out, Canadian customers go to: www.prbullet.com for MMP sabots and precision bullets. I'm not connected, just for information.
