Default Knight's new CarbonKnight Stock...

OK any of you folks that have recieved a new Knight DISC Extreme or Big Horn that come equipped with the new CarbonKnight stock, what are your thoughts on the stock???

A couple of weeks ago I was in Kennewick and stopped in at Wholesales sports. They are one of the new vendors for Knight, they had several Big Horns in stock and standing in front of the counter and looking at the guns in the rack, that stock really looked interesting. The black stock has a completely different texture on the outside, kinda little swirls in it.

Well, this weekend I am back in Kennewick and decide to make another trip to Wholesale only this time I am going to handle and feel. I had the counter guy hand me a black stocked - non thumbhole Big Horn. I really like that stock those little swirls or what ever they are give a really positive grip on the stock. I even wet my finger tips and tried to make it a bit slick, but it really did not slip.

The Monte Carlo portion of the stock seems to have been reworked also. It is more pronounced and has sharper lines almost like a real Monte Carlo configuration.

In the past, i could not imagine hunting with a thumbhole, shooting at the range yes, but hunting - questionable. The last two maybe three years I have made the switch - i have no ideal why it took me so long, so anyway I could not resist asking for one of the camo thumbhole Big Horns in the rack. OMG is that a good feeling fitting stock. It points really easy i like that new stock.

The first trip I asked the gun manager if they were going to get any DISC Extremes with the Western Kit for Washington. He had no ideal what a Western Kit was so I guess you will not see any Extremes there...

I wonder if its real carbon fiber like on Ducati parts. The FAUX carbon can look good but real carbon fiber stuff looks awesome usually. A few companies are finally staring to use it since the price has come done a tiny bit.

Right now i got my eyes on one of the shadow gray laminates. Im not sure if i want a TH or regular. Im one stock short atm so i need to see the carbon up close sometime too.

I think you would really like it once you got your hands on it. It is way ahead of the older composite stock and I really liked them...

Wrap your hand in and around one of the new TH's put it in the firing spot - you will be turned to the dark side...

Last year i made the switch to TH composite and i was pretty happy. Worked great on the GMB54 with the short barrel. If the new one is even lighter, i would love to use one on it. Then its stock can go on one of the others. I also wonder if Boyds is making the laminates. Their colors look really similar.
