Here is my views on scopes and bases...
Get the base and rings that will bring that scope as close to the barrel as possible. The lower the scope is, the better the harmonics of the unit. Just make sure the hammer clears all you need. As for a peep sight.. I would forget it. I've discovered that rifles with sight and scope.. the scope is always gone to instead of the sights. I think it is just a matter of confidence. Beside, practice with that scope and it will be plenty fast for all your shooting needs. Since you might be concerned about close shots, and why you'd want the peep sight.. get a scope with low end magnification. I personally like a 2-7 x32mm scope. The Nikon Pro Staff being my favorite. On 2x I can hunt thickets with ease. On 7x I can hunt open fields. And the 32mm gives you all the sight picture you need.
Now if you hunt only fields then the Nikon Omega 3-9x40 might be another scope choice.
