CCI 209M primers and BH 209

Are the CCI 209M primers a good primer for blackhorn 209 out of a TC Triumph?What are the TC guys using?

I use the Win209 primers and have had no problems out of my Bone Collector. Buy some people cant get the gun to lock with them. I would try CCI and Win209 and see what works best in your gun. Find whats the best and then buy a brick. I still have my brick after three years. But I have a feeling I will buy another right after hunting season.

The Winchester delayed in my Triumph. I would only use a Federal209A or CCI 209M in a factory Triumph plug.

Which powder do you use? I've shot over 400 rounds through my Triumph with Blackhorn and Win209 and have had no delay with the factory breech.

I should of noted it was BH209 powder. I will also say it was before it was on the market. Have they made changes since, i don't think so?????

I have use Blackhorn 209 in an Omega , a Triumph and a Endeavor encore through several cases of powder using Win 209 reloading Primers and Rem STS Primers with a good tight fitting sabot & bullet combinations and Hornady FPB and Thor bullets with no problem

Honestly I don't know. Like I said before I bought the Bone Collector which was atleast a year after the first Triumph came out. But I don't know if they made any changes to the breech plug. I know they did on the ProHunter. Its more concaved on the bottom. So maybe they did the same with the Triumph. But still I had both versions of the Pro Hunter breech plug and it ignited BH209 with W209 primers.

I would stick to CCI209M's, Fed209A's or Remington STS primers. The Remington STS primers due to their thickness, fatness, stop alot of blowback. Grab a pack of each and see which one is the cleanest in your gun. If they come out clean then all the fire is going forward for proper ignition. Decarbon your breech plug often with a 1/8th drill bit to eliminate flame cutting in the primer shelf and proper ignition of BH 209.

I use CCI 209m primers and BH 209 in a CVA that is suppose to have problems with ignition without altering the breech plug. It's never failed to fire without delay.

I have no interest in trying a different primer.
