Default knight breech plug wrench

just got my lehigh conversion breech plug for knight disc extreme .50. when i installed the plug i notice the breech plug wrench that goes with the gun does not fit over the lehigh plug completely. it seems that the recess in the wrench is not deep enough to fit over the plug. is this normal? i can snug up the plug but i wish the wrench fit better, i don't want to take a chance of slipping off and rounding the corners of the plug.

andrewstj: Someone on another forum (think it was Busta) advised me how to fix that.

Just drill out the center of the breech plug tool with a 5/16" bit until it completely fits over the breech plug shoulder. (drilled mine to a depth of approx. 1/2").

Be careful not to let the drill bit touch the sides of the tool where the lugs are. (It was easy to drill).

Or you could use a 1/4 inch drive deep well socket.

I went and purchased a set of cheap deep sockets. (nice to have around anyway) Its so much easier to bring out an old ratchet and throw that socket on. The plugs back right out.

+1

I just went to Lowes and for about $3.00 I bought a deep 7/16" socket. I just keep it in the Knight bullet box.
