Default Crud Ring?

Would Pyrodex and a T7 primer give a crud ring with conicals in a CVA?

I've never tried that combo.

i never had a crud ring with 777 primers and prydoex. Although when i did shoot that load i had a ton of blow by due to not learning that adjusting the firing pin bushing was a god send LOL.

Never know until you try it.

I have to buy powder. I'd rather not buy what isn't going to work.

Last time I was in the gun shop he had one bottle of BH. I know that won't give me a crud ring, but I worry about the BP.

ah the bp is an easy fix. The new plug will be out at the end of this month as well.

I know. I want to be able to shoot it right away though. Do you think if I get a nice tight fit of the primer with an o-ring, CCI 209M primer, and keep the BP clean with a #32 drill I can get away with a range session with BH?

Then I can drill out the plug, or wait for the new BP.

I'm trying to avoid getting mad at a new gun if it has misfires. You know how first impressions are.

Most of my forum members that adjusted the firing pin bushing or used the over sized o ring on the firing pin bushing threads reported zero hang fires of any sort. But what works for them, may not work for you, thats the fun of muzzleloading. Its damn well worth a shot and 100% recommended to keep the frames paint from being scorched off.
