Yes, flinters really get some getting used to. Now just imagine shooting them as a lefty like I am! That pan is right in front of your nose. You really have to focus on your follow thru on the shot. And in your excitement, especially on game, its really easy to forget and 'drop' the barrel when the hammer falls. I hate to admit this but when I was quite a bit younger, I missed a trotting deer at a range of about a whopping 10 feet. To this day, I still blame my hunting buddy for pulling the ball out of my barrel when I wasn't looking....
