Default Almost saved a Knight

Was at my local Scheels (which I really hate the people that work there) and found a used Knight Bighorn in SS with black Thumbhole stock. The breech was really fouled and corrude. Also some light rust parts on the barrel. They wanted 130 which I just thought was tooo high. I offered them 85 but they only dropped to 100. It didn't come with the breech tool or anything. With all the work that it needed I just thought 100 was still too high. What are your guys opinion? I didn't really need it. Just thought if i could clean it up alittle bit it would be a good truck gun.

With a thumbhole stock, and the fact it might clean up to be a good rifle, it might be worth $100.00 depending on how bad you want it and if your willing to work it over.

I would not pay $100 for one scabbed up. I have seen great condition MK-85's for $150 to $200. And I think that is a far superior rifle. And in good condition. Have you seen the price on the breech tool that Knight wants to sell you?? Unbelievable. Tom.

Yeah I tried to explain to them about the breech tool. They didn't seem to care. I figure I would have atleast 100-150 into cleaning and getting it back into a shooter. Could probably find a good used one for 200 total.

I'm going to keep an eye on it. I doubt that it moves anytime soon. Wait awhile and then re offer. See what happens. But I was looking on GunBroker and found alot of nice Knights under 300. Some are even new.
